A chilling sight of Danelo Cavalcante, a murderer who escaped from and is currently fleeing Chester County Prison in Pennsylvania, disguised himself, has been captured on surveillance camera, causing shivers.
According to an official announcement by the Chester County District Attorney’s office on the 11th (local time), Cavalcante was spotted in an area more than 20 miles (approximately 32km) from the region where the authorities concentrated their search efforts. The authorities revealed that Cavalcante abandoned the van he was riding in and is currently believed to be staying in Pennsylvania.
According to the authorities, Cavalcante changed his appearance during his escape. He appears to have shaved his beard and is seen wearing a green hooded sweater. With a completely different look, he is boldly fleeing without arousing suspicion.
It has been reported that Cavalcante has been attempting to make contact with several acquaintances during his escape.
As Cavalcante has not been captured for a week and his whereabouts remain mysterious, nearby residents express their anxiety. It has been revealed that some schools in the area have canceled classes for a day and temporarily closed their buildings.
Currently, the police have offered a reward of $20,000 (approximately 26.7 million won) for the capture of Cavalcante.
Cavalcante, who escaped from prison on the 31st of last month, was already serving a life sentence for the murder of his ex-girlfriend in 2021, stabbing her 38 times with a knife. After committing a murder in Brazil in 2017 and being wanted, he illegally entered the United States.
Meanwhile, a prison escape incident also occurred in the UK, causing a temporary emergency.
Daniel Abed-Khalife, a 21-year-old former soldier imprisoned in HMP Wandsworth in southwest London on terrorism charges, escaped by tying himself to the bottom of a food delivery truck while working in the kitchen on the morning of the 6th. The authorities arrested him on the 9th, the fourth day of his escape. The police, who had launched a nationwide search and offered a reward of £20,000, reportedly arrested him in the Chiswick area of west London.
