Artificial tears go into your eyes!
Use them correctly.
Hello. This is Salimbro! It might seem a bit random, but do you use artificial tears a lot? When we use computers or cell phones a lot, our eyes tend to get tired easily! That’s when we use artificial tears~ Nowadays, disposable artificial tears are widely available, so not only Salimbro, but many of you are probably using them.
I also use artificial tears often when I work because my eyes get so dry! So, are you using these artificial tears safely? Artificial tears go directly into your eyes, so you need to be extra careful when using them.
Today’s news prepared by Salimbro is all about understanding artificial tears. We’ve prepared everything from the difference between disposable artificial tears and monthly artificial tears to the correct way to use artificial tears, so please pay close attention until the end! Let’s get started. Off we go=3
Disposable VS Monthly Use
There are two main types of artificial tears: disposable and multi-use, which we usually use for about a month~ Do you know the difference between these two types of artificial tears? Besides the quantity, the presence or absence of preservatives is different! Hehe, Salimbro will explain in more detail, so follow along closely
Disposable artificial tears do not contain preservatives. So, conversely, monthly artificial tears must contain preservatives, right? These preservatives are not good for the body, and if you use artificial tears in the wrong way, or for a long time, it can often cause problems with eye health. Our eyes are precious~ So, from now on, Salimbro will show you how to use artificial tears correctly~
Stick to the Expiration Date
Multi-use artificial tears should be used for a maximum of one month. If you open and close the lid for a long time, the risk of bacterial infection increases~ Therefore, please make sure to check the expiration date on the artificial tears and put them in your eyes. Even if there is a lot of time left, it’s best to use artificial tears as soon as possible.
The most important thing when using disposable artificial tears is to use them immediately after opening. Even if you haven’t used them all yet~ or if there’s a little left and it’s a waste~ from now on, nope! As I explained earlier, there are no preservatives in disposable artificial tears! Therefore, once you open it, even if you close the lid again, secondary contamination can occurㅠㅠ Since it’s going into your eyes, it’s better to be more careful.
Keep your head at a 30-degree angle
When you put in artificial tears, have you ever tilted your head all the way back? You should never tilt your head! The reason is that if you tilt your head all the way back, the part where the artificial tears are injected can touch your eye, increasing the risk of bacterial infection~ Therefore, to properly inject artificial tears, it is appropriate to tilt your head back about 30 degrees ㅎㅎ
Apply a proper amount each day
If you use artificial tears excessively, dry eye syndrome can worsen. Therefore, it is appropriate to apply them 4-5 times a day~ Even if you use a lot, please be careful not to exceed 6 times. Our eyes are precious!
Discard the first one or two drops
This is a tip that even Salimbro didn’t follow well! It’s to discard the first one or two drops when injecting artificial tears~ The reason is that when you open artificial tears, the entrance part is torn, and the microplastic residue there can come out★
Don’t blink after application
After putting in artificial tears, if you blink your eyes, it feels like it’s going into your eyes well~ Did you think Salimbro was the only one? ㅋㅋㅋ But in fact, for artificial tears to properly enter your eyes, it’s good to close your eyes for about 30 seconds after putting in one or two drops~ If you didn’t know, make a note of it><
Don’t open and close frequently
Even if it’s artificial tears in multi-use, it’s not good to open and close it frequently, right? When you open and close the lid of artificial tears, it is exposed to the outside, which is not good. Please open and close it only when necessary, even if it’s a one-month supply of artificial tears! If you think you’re going to use artificial tears frequently~ it’s better for hygiene to use disposable ones rather than monthly ones.
So, today we looked at the differences between disposable and monthly artificial tears, and how to use artificial tears correctly. How was it? Wasn’t it useful? Let’s try to use artificial tears correctly in the future through Salimbro’s tips! Hehe. It’s all for our precious eyes! Unfortunately, Salimbro will come back next time with more useful news! Bye for now~
