BTS Member V Begins Preparations for Military Enlistment

BTS member V (Kim Tae Hyung, 27) has officially begun preparations for his military enlistment.

On the 26th, V shared a photo along with a haircut emoji.

Recently, V has begun the process of fulfilling his military duty by cutting his long hair short in preparation for enlistment.

V caught attention by sharing a photo of a pile of his cut hair on the floor.

Fans reacted to V’s recent update of him shaving his head with comments such as “Tae-hyung has cut his hair,” “Each strand of Tae-hyung’s hair is precious,” “Why did he cut so much hair,” “I’m not ready to send Tae-hyung to the military,” “Has Tae-hyung become a baldy,” and “Tae-hyung will look cool even with his hair cut.”

Announcement of BTS Members’ Enlistment Preparations

Earlier, the agency Big Hit Music announced on the 22nd that BTS members RM (Kim Nam Jun, 29), Jimin (Park Ji Min, 28), V, and Jung Kook(Jeon Jung Kook, 26) had announced their enlistment preparations. The agency stated, “RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook have begun the process to fulfill their military duty” and “RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook are preparing for their military duty. We will provide further updates regarding their military enlistment as they are determined”.

They continued, “We ask for your warm support and unchanging love until RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook fulfill their military duty and return in good health. We will also continue to support and care for our artists”.

After the enlistment announcement, Jung Kook left a long letter to his fans through Weverse, saying, “I will start a new journey in December. I will be leaving you for a while to serve in the military”.

Jung Kook expressed his feelings, stating that while delivering this news, he felt heavy-hearted. However, he also mentioned that the precious memories with ARMYs warmed his heart. He continued by saying that he felt hesitant to ask ARMYs to wait for him unconditionally while he served in the military, acknowledging that 1 year and 6 months is a long time. Jung Kook promised to return to the stage as a more mature version of himself.

Additionally, he conveyed his wishes for ARMYs, hoping that their lives would always be filled with laughter and happiness and that they would lead healthy and beautiful daily lives. Jung Kook expressed that he would miss them deeply while waiting for the day to share a new story and concluded by asking them to stay healthy and not get sick, expressing his love for them.

Status of Other BTS Members’ Military Service

Meanwhile, since the eldest member of BTS, Jin (Kim Seok Jin, 30), enlisted in the army as an active duty soldier last December, J-Hope (Jung Ho Seok, 29) has been serving his military duty as an active duty soldier since last April. Also, Suga (Min Yoon Gi, 30) has begun serving as a social service agent, an alternative military service since last September.
