North Korea: Reported photos to Kim, confirmed U.S. carrier
Photos undisclosed; formal missions start in December after satellite adjustments.

North Korea announced that it has photographed major military facilities. This includes the White House and the Pentagon through its reconnaissance satellite Malligyong-1.

The Korean Central News Agency reported on the 28th that Kim Jong Un had received a report on the operation of the reconnaissance satellite from the 25th to the 28th. The National Aerospace Development Administration’s Pyongyang Integrated Control Center presented the report on the morning of the 27th and the dawn of the 28th. According to the report, Kim received footage captured around 11:35 PM the previous day, featuring the Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia, Newport News Shipyard, and the airfield area.

Furthermore, he received footage from around 11:36 PM on the 27th, showing the White House and the Pentagon. It was also reported that the footage of the Norfolk Naval Base and the Newport News Shipyard area confirmed the presence of four U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and one British aircraft carrier. The news agency stated that Kim expressed significant satisfaction upon receiving these reports. However, North Korea did not release the satellite photos taken by Malligyong-1.

Previously, North Korea launched a military reconnaissance satellite in a surprise move on the 21st. The satellite is believed to have entered a regular orbit, but it is still under suspicion regarding image resolution and performance. North Korea has previously claimed to have photographed major U.S. military bases in Guam and Hawaii, but it has not released these photos either. North Korea plans to conduct detailed control of the reconnaissance satellite. It will start its official reconnaissance mission on the 1st of next month.
