The National Intelligence Service (NIS) claimed on the 8th that Hamas was using weapons produced by North Korea and presented a related photo as evidence.
In response to a Voice of America (VOA) report that revealed a photo identifying Korean text inside the fuse parts of an F-7 rocket, the NIS stated, “We assess the same.”
The NIS also released a photo of the F-7 rocket with the part of the use of the said part marked in a circle.
They explained, “The Korean marked fuse mentioned in the foreign press report is in the middle of the F-7 rocket.” However, the photo released by the NIS on the day was an external photo of the F-7 rocket, and the Korean notation inside the fuse part was not revealed.
The NIS stated that they are actively gathering and compiling concrete evidence regarding the extent and timing of North Korea’s supply of weapons to Hamas and other groups. However, they also noted that it is currently challenging to provide this information due to the need to protect sources and maintain diplomatic relations.
The National Intelligence Service (NIS) confirmed the briefing given by John Kirby, the White House Strategic Communications Coordinator, regarding Russia’s use of North Korean ballistic missiles in Ukraine. They stated that this development is a matter that both U.S. and South Korean authorities have been closely monitoring in cooperation.
The NIS added, “The weapons trade between Russia and North Korea, including ballistic missiles and shells, is a violation of the UN Security Council resolution and a behavior that seriously threatens peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. It must be immediately stopped.”
