Samsung Electronics’ recently launched Galaxy S24 series recorded 1.21 million units in domestic pre-sales. This is a new record for the most pre-sales among all Galaxy S series to date.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 26th that it recorded 1.21 million units in domestic pre-sales of the Galaxy S24 series, which was conducted for one week from the 19th to the 25th of this month.

The previous record for the most pre-sales was held by the Galaxy S23 series launched last year. This model recorded 1.09 million units in pre-sales conducted for one week last year. The Galaxy S24 series broke this record in just one year.

The record for the most pre-sales among all Galaxy smartphones is held by the Galaxy Note10. This model recorded 1.38 million units in pre-sales in August 2019, but the pre-sales period was 11 days.

Comparing the daily average records, the Galaxy S24 series, which pre-sold 1.21 million units in one week, surpasses the Note 10’s 125,000 units with about 173,000 units per day.

In the industry, people responded it was expected that the Galaxy S24 series would be a hit right after Samsung Electronics’ unpacking event. Samsung Electronics conducted a live broadcast on Samsung.com for about 90 minutes along with the start of pre-sales on the 19th, where it also sold about 20,000 units, setting a new record for the most sales to date.

Looking at the sales proportion of each model in the pre-sales of the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy S24 Ultra accounted for about 60% of the 1.21 million units. The Galaxy S24+ accounted for about 21%, and the Galaxy S24 accounted for about 19% of sales.

In terms of color, the Galaxy S24 Ultra was popular in Titanium Black, and the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 were popular in Marvel Gray. Among the Samsung.com and Samsung Gangnam exclusive colors, Titanium Blue and Sapphire Blue were popular.

The mobile communication industry believes that the first Galaxy AI function introduced in the Galaxy S24 series, along with the significantly improved performance in all usability, has successfully captured consumers’ hearts.

Real-time interpretation supporting 13 languages is supported through On-Device, which allows consumers to use it without worrying about security and also supports translation in text and major messengers.

The ‘Circle to Search’ function, which provides an innovative search experience just by tapping a circle, is also installed for the first time and is receiving great reviews from consumers.

In the case of the camera, it employs a large number of AI models to provide a more complete camera experience from zoom to nightography, and the editing function using AI, such as generative editing, has been greatly enhanced.

Meanwhile, customers who pre-purchased can receive and activate the product from the 26th, and after activation, they can apply for purchase benefits through the ‘Samsung.com’ app.

The global official release date of the Galaxy S24 series is January 31st.
