Major Changes Expected for the Palisade
Completely Different from All Previous Predictions?
Clues in the Latest Camouflage
The Hyundai Palisade boasts a dominant presence in the domestic midsize SUV market. With a year left until the full change, the public’s interest is already high. The new Palisade seems likely to adopt a boxy design like the Santa Fe and a rear end similar to the Land Rover Range Rover.
So, what about the front end? The expected design changes are significant compared to other parts. Recently, an updated version of the front-end prediction by car prediction expert YouTuber NYMammoth has been posted, drawing attention. We took a brief look at what the differences were.
Controversial Front-End Prediction
The Key is the Length of the Daytime Running Lights
NYMammoth has made several predictions about the full-change model of the Palisade this year. However, the front and side predictions were remade in a short period, raising questions among netizens. NYMammoth explained the reason, saying that after examination, the recently released close-up spy shots of the new Palisade are completely different from all previous predictions.
The biggest difference is in the Daytime Running Lights (DRL). In the previously released front-end prediction, the DRL extended down to the lower part of the bumper, causing a divide in opinions. The visual of the lights extending below the headlamp box stood out, with reactions such as, “It looks like catfish whiskers,” “Is it a bearded monk?” and “I thought it was Hulk Hogan’s mustache.”
Box-Shaped Headlamps Applied
Vertical DRL Remains
However, after referring to the latest spy shots, they were able to confirm new details revealed by the camouflage outline. The resulting image gives a distinctly different feel from the previous front-end prediction. The headlamp box has a thick outer line reminiscent of the new Grandeur while also reflecting the unique characteristics of the Palisade.
While the Grandeur emphasized luxury with chrome details at both ends of the headlamp box, the Palisade has chosen to maintain the identity of the existing model with vertical DRL. Additionally, the lower part of the headlamp box does not connect with the grille but is somewhat invaded by part of the bumper, minimizing a monotonous feel.
Horizontal DRL Dotted?
Seems to Aim for Unity with the Grille
Meanwhile, the application of seamless horizon lamps is unclear. There is talk of the possibility of dotted DRL reflecting the front grille pattern of the previously released new Palisade prototype. The design applied in this prediction connects the top of the headlamp boxes on both sides while also achieving a natural unity with the internal grille pattern.
Netizens have shown various reactions, such as, “It looks like it resembles the Carnival,” “Personally, I think the previous prediction was better,” “If it comes out like this, I have a feeling it’ll be a hit,” “I’m looking forward to how the rear will look,” “Isn’t this a Kia design, not Hyundai?” “It feels like it’s targeting the American market,” and “I thought it was a Ford Expedition.”
