Yoon Tae Young, the son of Samsung’s Vice Chairman Yoon Jong Yong, recently shared the scale of his wealth.
On March 12, a preview of next week’s SBS Strong Heart VS episode featured actors Lee Yu Bi, Lee Joon, Yoon Tae Young, Kim Dong Hoon, and Lee Jung Shin from The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection as guests.
Jeon Hyun Moo introduced Yoon Tae Young as “a royal family member, Mr. Yoon Tae Young, with an inheritance of 45 billion won (approximately $37.5 million).” Lee Joon was surprised and asked, “So, do you now have over 100 billion won (around $83.3 million)?”
Yoon Tae Young smiled, nodded, and gave a thumbs up in reaction to Moon Se Yoon’s question of whether or not his wealth is in the trillions of won. His response had viewers wondering about his actual wealth.
Jeon Hyun Moo also asked Yoon Tae Young, “Do you use an iPhone?” Yoon Tae Young’s answer was bleeped out, sparking even more curiosity.
Yoon Tae Young is the son of former Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Yoon Jong Yong. The former Vice Chairman served as the President of the Samsung Electronics Home Appliances Division and the President of Samsung Group’s Japan Headquarters. In 2012, he was also ranked third in the Top 100 CEOs selected by the Harvard Business Review.
Rumors circulated that Yoon Tae Young inherited around 45 to 50 billion won (approximately $37.5 to $41.7 million) from his father. In 2022, he appeared on an entertainment program and clarified, “I didn’t inherit much. People like to gossip.”
The SBS Strong Heart VS episode featuring Yoon Tae Young will air on March 19 at 10:20 PM KST.
