Is That BTS’s V?
A Cafe Owner in Rural Japan Becomes a Hot Topic
Customers Flock to See the Owner Who Resembles V
A Japanese cafe owner has gone viral for his uncanny resemblance to BTS’s V.
Since March 19, social media has buzzed with articles titled “Japanese Cafe Owner Who Looks Like BTS’s V.”
The posts include several pictures of the Japanese man serving coffee.
The cafe, a tiny spot in Tsu, Mie Prefecture, Japan, is only open on weekends from 11 AM to 5 PM.
The cafe reportedly sees a surge of customers every weekend, all eager to see Takano Ren, the owner and barista.
Takano Ren, the owner and barista behind the tiny cafe, has become a social media sensation thanks to his uncanny resemblance to BTS’s V. The cafe’s playful social media presence fuels the buzz, with K-pop tunes often gracing videos of Takano Ren in action.
Online comments about Takano Ren’s resemblance to BTS’s V were mixed. Some saw an apparent similarity, particularly from the side profile: “His side view looks like him!” Others were less convinced: “I’m not sure from the front, but the side profile is similar.” Comments praised Takano Ren’s merits: “Such a shame he’s in the countryside” and “Even if they don’t look alike, he is very handsome.”
Riding the wave of Takano Ren’s viral fame, the cafe hosted a two-day pop-up event in Tokyo’s Shibuya district starting on March 16.
Takano Ren was born in 1999 and runs a co-working space business and another weekday cafe.
