Unlike Korea, where car tuning regulations are strict, the U.S. boasts a high degree of freedom, allowing almost any tuning. Engine swaps and grafting old model bodies onto new car chassis are permitted. As a result, tuning cars that exceed our imagination is commonplace in this advanced automobile nation, where automobile culture developed alongside Europe.

Among the diverse tuning cars with their unique personalities, one has caught the eye. A Lamborghini Huracan, unveiled last Christmas, is decked out in dazzling LEDs, reminiscent of a Christmas tree.

Over 30,000 LED lights were used

Alex Choi, who posts car-related content on YouTube and Instagram, revealed a special Lamborghini Huracan on December 25. Last year, he turned heads with a McLaren 720S tuned for the Christmas concept. This time, the Huracan he created is adorned with 30,000 LEDs on the bumper, hood, doors, and roof.

What sets this car apart is the ability to change the color of the installed LEDs and display specific animation patterns. He did not mention how the LED system exactly operates. However, it appears to operate on a separate power supply, given the installation of two additional batteries in the car.

What kind of car is the Lamborghini Huracan?
Entry-level but priced at over $220K

Previously, he recruited people through social media to help with car tuning. About 20 people participated, moving to an undisclosed location to decorate the Huracan in dazzling Christmas tree fashion. After the car reveal event, he also showcased himself drifting, surrounded by other cars decorated in a similar theme.

The Huracan is Lamborghini’s entry-level supercar. The Huracan, which has undergone minor changes over the past decade, is scheduled to be discontinued in 2024. It is equipped with a 5.2L V10 naturally aspirated engine and a 7-speed DCT, and depending on the version, it can produce a maximum output of 610~640 horsepower and a maximum torque of 57.1-61.2 kg-m. The most powerful Huracan Performante LP 640-4 can accelerate from 0 to 62.1 mph in 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of over 201.9 mph. It was sold in Korea at prices ranging from the early 300 million won ($225,000) to the mid-400 million won (around $330,000) range.

Would it be illegal in Korea?

According to the Automobile Management Act in Korea, installing lights arbitrarily outside the designated location or using uncertified products could result in criminal penalties, such as imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to $7,400.
