Why You’ll Fall in Love with These 3 Cars at First Sight

Capturing Consumers’ Hearts with One Unique Design: Top 3 Cars with Superior Design

When buying a car, there are more than one or two factors to consider. Vehicle performance, sales price, availability of options, design, and more can all shift in priority depending on individual preferences and circumstances. So, what’s the most intuitive factor among these? The one that influences not just car purchases but all product purchases. That’s right, it’s design.

In the past, brand reputation was a significant consideration. This was due to unavoidable quality differences between brands. However, recently, the gap in quality across brands has significantly decreased, and the value of design has correspondingly increased. In this regard, we’ll explore three cars about design. Let’s dive in.

Classic Sensibility from Straight Lines: The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, aka G-Class

The first car you’d buy just for its design is the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. In an era when most models adopt a streamlined design, the classic sensibility of the G-Class’s straight lines effectively stimulates consumers’ purchasing psychology. If you ask G-Class owners why they bought their vehicle, most will mention the design, proving the car’s significant merit in terms of design.

However, it does come with its drawbacks. First is the price. The G-Class is a significant investment for the average consumer. Maintenance costs are also not to be taken lightly. The boxy design inevitably leads to high air resistance and poor fuel efficiency. One owner reported fuel economy of 2-5 km/L (4.7-11.8 mpg) in city driving and 7-9 km/L (16.5-21.2 mpg) on the highway. This car has distinct pros and cons.

Catchy Cuteness: Mini Brand Vehicles

The second car you’d buy just for its design is the Mini Cooper. Its small and round, cute appearance, which is especially popular among women, is very much in line with its design. Most women considering their first car say they would consider a Mini if circumstances allow. Cooper and nearly identical models, such as the Countryman and Clubman, are famous among women.

Of course, it has its downsides. The main one is the ride comfort. Its cute appearance masks the fact that the Mini is notoriously stiff to ride in. This is because it’s not primarily designed for comfortable driving. This downside has become more prominent since the brand joined the BMW Group, so much so that Mini cars have earned the nickname ‘cute BMW.’ If you’re considering buying this car for its design, it’s strongly recommended that you take it for a test drive first.

Volkswagen’s Iconic Beetle: The Design Says It All

The last car you’d buy just for its design is the Volkswagen Beetle. This car, now discontinued and only available as used, was extremely popular among women considering purchasing it when it was still in production. As the name suggests, its bug-like design captured many women’s hearts.

Does this car have any drawbacks? Of course, it does.

Firstly, the interior is tight—very tight. Also, its unique streamlined design makes it harder to get an excellent rear view than other cars. Moreover, the car’s high center of gravity makes it less stable at high speeds. Of course, some owners say these drawbacks don’t bother them, that they’ve gotten used to them, and that it’s a great car overall.
