Tasman, a pickup truck under development by Kia, is raising consumers’ expectations by confirming the model name as Tasman and the recent release of a teaser video. Tasman is a model targeting the Australian market and is believed to have the sensibility and design of an authentic pickup truck.
The test vehicle has been captured driving several times since 2023, revealing some of its design and overall outline. The interior of the early prototype was previously captured, but it was difficult to discern details at the time as the dashboard was covered with camouflage.

This time, the interior with the camouflage removed was captured. EFTM, an overseas media outlet, recently released a video of Tasman’s interior on Instagram. If consumers look closely, the application of Kia’s new steering wheel is first noticeable like the new steering wheel used in the K4, released in the North American market as a successor to the K3, the top and bottom were treated with a flat D-cut. Kia’s logo was shifted to the right.
The door trim and dashboard are thick and protrude in an angular shape, creating a somewhat rugged impression. It seems to have adopted a bold design, aiming to be an authentic pickup truck. Kia’s latest interior elements were also applied. A panoramic display connecting the digital cluster and infotainment display and a column-type gear lever is applied to the right side of the wheel.

The air vent with a honeycomb pattern also creates a unique impression. A hexagonal honeycomb pattern was applied to the design and stretched horizontally along the dashboard. The door handle is designed with a mechanical, angular shape. In the center console, two wireless charging pads were applied along with a cup holder to increase convenience.
The Tasman also appears to be a traditional pickup truck with a fairly bold appearance. Looking at recently captured spy shots, square headlamps with vertical emphasis were applied to the front. The headlamp is located at the end of the side to emphasize the vehicle’s width. It is expected to reflect Kia’s latest family look element, the Star Map Signature.
