A shocking case has come to light where a father forced his son to run on a treadmill because he thought the child was overweight, resulting in the child’s death.

According to the New York Post, on May 1, the father forced his 6-year-old son to run on a treadmill because he thought the boy was “overweight.” Even when the child collapsed from exhaustion, the father took him back to the treadmill and forced him to run again. The child eventually sustained injuries all over his body and died.

This is the case of the death of 6-year-old Corey Micciolo that took place in New Jersey, USA, in April 2021.

Christopher Gregor, who is charged with killing his 6-year-old son, is on trial. In court, the troubling footage showing Christopher Gregor abusing his son was released.

The video captures a father making his son run on a high-speed treadmill. Struggling with the pace, the son falls, but the father quickly picks him up and forces him to continue running.

The next day, Corey was taken to the hospital feeling nauseous and short of breath, but he eventually passed away.

During the trial, Christopher claimed that his son died from pneumonia. However, Corey’s mother testified, saying, “My son had a lot of bruises on his body. That’s why I decided to report it to the police.”

According to the report, Corey’s injuries included bruises on the heart and liver caused by shocks, and he had acute inflammation and a blood infection.

After the trial, the local judge believed that Corey’s condition was the result of long-term abuse by his father. The bruises were determined to have occurred 4 to 12 hours before death, leading to the cause being determined as murder.

Christopher, who was initially arrested on child abuse charges, had his charges changed to murder in March 2022. He is currently still in prison.
