Nothing Can’t Be Undone by a Hotpot (没有一顿火锅解决不了的事)

Due to poor box office performance, a film featuring Chinese actress Yang Mi was pulled from theaters just five days after its release.

On May 8th, China Daily reported that the film Nothing Can’t Be Undone by a Hotpot was withdrawn from theaters due to lackluster ticket sales.

The producers of Nothing Can’t Be Undone by a Hotpot announced the withdrawal on social media on May 5th. They began their post by saying, “Due to various circumstances, our film could not reach our audience after its release. We thank everyone who worked hard on the film and apologize to the audience.”

The film’s producers also stated, “After carefully assessing the current situation, we decided to remove the film from theaters on May 6th to meet the demands of a larger audience. We plan to re-release the film in the future.”

Nothing Can’t Be Undone by a Hotpot was released on May 1st and experienced a steady decline in box office rankings after its release.

This is not the first time a film has been pulled from theaters in China. Over the past few years, several films, including The Movie Emperor and Ping Pong: The Triumph, have been withdrawn due to poor box office performance.

Meanwhile, Yang Mi has been loved in China for over 30 years since her debut as a child actress in 1990.

She recently topped the list of highest-paid female celebrities in China. Her advertising fees are reported to be around 3.1 million Hong Kong dollars (approximately $400,000).

Yang Mi’s wealth was revealed during her divorce in 2018, which surprised many. At the time, she was reported to have assets worth about 900 million yuan (approximately $139 million).
