Fans raised concerns about the health of popular Hong Kong actor Chow Yun Fat.
According to a report from China Press on May 14th, a fan online recently shared a photo of Chow running in Hong Kong’s Victoria Peak. The photos showed Chow’s thigh muscles swollen like ping pong balls.
Some viewers online couldn’t hide their surprise at Chow’s health condition. They pointed out that his varicose veins are in a serious state, making running unsuitable.
Chow is known to be very fond of marathons. He participated in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon last January. That day, he started at 8:30 AM and crossed the finish line before 11 AM, completing the marathon in 2 hours and 26 minutes. He proved that age is just a number and he still possesses the vigor of youth.
Chow is also known to keep his body in shape by completing 5 km (about 3.1 miles) in an hour every day. He competed in the Hong Kong Cross Country Championships in December 2022, recording a time of 56 minutes and 39 seconds, and ranking 37th out of 41 participants.
Since the photo reveal of Chow’s swollen thighs, many people expressed concerns, with some voicing hopes that he would exercise in moderation.
Chow Yun Fat is a legendary actor in Hong Kong, known as a symbol of the city. He gained immense popularity with the 1986 film A Better Tomorrow, and the double-gun shooting action from the movie has become his trademark.
