Lincoln’s full-size Navigator SUV is gearing up to launch a new model. It is scheduled for release this year. The development pace is picking up. A prototype of the new Navigator was recently spotted during a test drive, offering a sneak peek at some of its design features.

Similar changes appear to have been made to the new Nautilus launched in 2023, so Lincoln’s latest design elements are expected to be applied. In addition, a rendering of the Lincoln Navigator based on the prototype has appeared, raising expectations for its launch.

Taking design cues from the Nautilus, the new Navigator features a wide grille and sleek headlights

Looking at the newly released Navigator, the front part shows the use of the spacious trapezoidal grille seen in the Nautilus. However, the existing clunky feel was erased by configuring the grille’s shape with curved lines. The headlamp connected to the grille extends sharply toward the side, creating a sporty feel.

Inside the headlamp was a daytime running light of short horizontal lines stacked on each other. The bottom of the daytime running lights is a two-line line that crosses the grille and extends along its entire width. The angled chrome garnish that smoothly covers the grille stands out. A grid pattern was applied to the air intake of the bumper, which extends horizontally.

Apply chrome garnish everywhere
The side part adds a sense of luxury

A circular line is applied to the side wheel arches. The chrome garnish extending along the side skirt adds a sense of luxury here. The character line that sits high above the door handle extends horizontally and connects to the end line of the headlamp. The window belt line was also highlighted with a chrome line, and the filler with black molding on the side created a smooth shape.

Although the details of the rear part have not been revealed, the shape of the tail lamp is shown. Tail lamps with a design similar to the new Nautilus were also applied to the rear. The tail lamp, which has the same design tone as the front daytime running lights, extends horizontally along the entire width. The side of the tail lamp is bent into an L shape.

The side graphic of the tail lamp, which is bent into an ㄱ shape, is applied as a layered detail. In addition, the lines of the tailgate, which were previously angled, have also undergone some modifications. The tailgate curves inward and narrows, making a sophisticated feel instead of the strong image of the current Navigator.

The interior is expected to be equipped with a new 48-inch display instead of the existing 13.2-inch display. Various changes will also likely be made to the interior, including a new steering wheel and interior trim. The new Navigator will be unveiled and launched in the US as early as the second half of 2024.
