Front and Rear Lamp Designs Revealed
Prototypes of Hyundai’s new full-change model for the Palisade, a large SUV, have been frequently spotted lately, fueling excitement and anticipation. In this context, reports indicate that Kia has also begun testing a full-change new model for the Telluride, its same-class SUV, and a strategic model for the North American market (development name LQ2).
This upcoming model is expected to retain the robust silhouette of the current version while incorporating a more futuristic and cutting-edge design. A prototype with production-ready lighting was recently captured, generating significant buzz. With Kia’s distinctive family look reportedly being further refined, consumer expectations are high as they eagerly await the final design.

Brand’s first two-line design?
On August 7, 2024, a test drive video of the Kia Telluride full-change model was posted on the YouTube channel Healer TV, which specializes in spy shots of new vehicle models in South Korea. Following the first capture of the prototype of the latest model in the US, it has now been revealed in South Korea. Although it is still covered in thick camouflage, significant changes can be found in both the front and rear.
The first prototype spotted earlier had camouflage film applied to the headlamps, but this time, the headlamp design has finally been partially revealed. As it is a North American strategic model, the daytime running lights (DRL) are lit in amber to comply with local laws. Unlike the existing Starmap Signature DRL, which features a single-line lamp bent into various shapes, this suggests the possibility of a two-line vertical design being applied.

The new model’s rear emphasizes a masculine image tailored to American tastes. The tail lamps are one of the most noticeable changes from the first captured prototype. The design now features two vertical lines of tail lights, similar to the headlamps, which enhance the futuristic look. The outer tail lights are thickened at the ends and bent subtly, adding visual interest and minimizing monotony.
The auxiliary brake light at the top of the tailgate, which previously illuminated only the center, has been extended to nearly span the entire width of the rear window, giving the vehicle a more commanding presence. The rear bumper’s lower reflector, which was incomplete in earlier versions, has been fully integrated. The bumper is framed by a trapezoidal black garnish that draws attention, and an LED reverse light can be faintly seen in the center, further enhancing the rear design.

When will it be launched?
The interior of the new Telluride full-change model has also been partially revealed, offering a glimpse of several of Kia’s latest design elements. The steering wheel features a distinctive double D-cut design with a flat top, and the Kia emblem has been shifted to the right, consistent with the brand’s latest lineup. The dashboard includes a digital cluster and a square opening for a heads-up display (HUD) projection is visible across it.
Industry sources suggest that the new Telluride will be equipped with a new 2.5L gasoline turbo-based hybrid system, similar to what is expected in the Palisade full-change model. This setup is anticipated to produce a total system output of around 300 horsepower, replacing the current 3.8L V6 gasoline naturally aspirated engine. The new Telluride is projected to enter mass production in late 2025, with an official launch likely in 2026.
