American gymnastics icon Simone Biles clinched a gold medal at the Paris Olympics with her awe-inspiring performance. Her U.S. team uniform caught the eye as it featured Korean text, adding an intriguing touch to her appearance.

Biles won the vault final at the Paris’ Bercy Arena with a score of 15.300. She also took gold in the women’s team gymnastics and all-around events.

Despite her achievements, Biles fell short of the five gold medals she had hoped for. She won a silver medal in the women’s balance beam final with a score of 14.133, falling just behind Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade, who won gold with 14.166. A critical error on the balance beam led to a 0.6-point deduction, which cost Biles the top spot.

She finished fifth on the balance beam after a fall. Overall, Biles secured three gold medals at the Paris Olympics in the all-around, team event, and vault.

This performance marks an improvement over her results at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where Biles had to withdraw from events due to fear of landing and severe stress from high expectations, which hindered her performance.

Around the same time, Biles testified before the U.S. Senate, revealing that Larry Nassar, the former U.S. gymnastics team doctor, had sexually abused her. She urged, “If you allow a predator to harm children, the consequences will be swift and severe,” and called for decisive government action. Nassar is currently serving a prison sentence of over 300 years, essentially a life term.

Meanwhile, Biles’s U.S. team uniform worn during the balance beam event has gained attention online. The blue uniform featured Korean text on the collar, which intrigued many. The training suit, adorned with the Nike logo and USA, had a six-character Korean phrase, translating to “Anyone, Everyone.”

The reason for the Korean text on Biles’ uniform remains unclear, but it might be tied to Olympic values. Some speculate it was simply a design choice, as Nike often incorporates various languages for aesthetic purposes.

Earlier, Italian gymnast Elisa Iorio also attracted attention for a Korean-related reason. According to reports from Sportskeeda, during the women’s team qualifying round, Elisa Iorio wore a leotard with the Korean phrase “Love Yourself” written on her back. This phrase is linked to BTS’s popular album Love Yourself; her outfit featured the album’s logo. Following her appearance, BTS’s fan club, ARMY, sent supportive messages to Iorio.
