Following the recent drunk driving incident involving Suga, the future of BTS’s full-group activities has become uncertain. However, BTS member Jin expressed his deep affection for fans while mentioning the possibility of a full-group concert.
Harper’s BAZAAR Korea released a video on August 26 titled “Worldwide Handsome Reigns in Bazaar!” in which Jin answers various questions that engage with his fans.
One question asked, “This year, BTS is celebrating its 11th anniversary, but if BTS were to hold a full-group concert for the 12th anniversary, what song would you want to sing first for ARMY?”
Jin responded with “Spring Day” and shared, “It hasn’t been included in the concert setlist for a while, so I’ll choose ‘Spring Day,” conveying his love for his fans.
BTS is at the center of controversy due to Suga’s recent drunk driving incident. On August 7, news broke about Suga’s drunk driving, which significantly damaged BTS’s reputation. Police charged Suga for riding an electric scooter while under the influence.
Suga’s statement shared that police conducted a breathalyzer test after he fell while trying to park an electric scooter in front of his house. This resulted in a license suspension and a fine. He reportedly told the police that he had a glass of beer.
Contrary to Suga’s explanation, reports indicated that his blood alcohol concentration reached 0.227%, which is categorized as highly intoxicated, and he crashed into a curb while riding the scooter on the sidewalk.
This incident has polarized the fandom, creating a rift between supporters and critics of Suga. Fans are sharply divided, with some calling for his resignation by sending wreaths demanding his departure. In contrast, others insist that BTS should retain its seven-member lineup and oppose any move to remove him. This has led to heightened tensions and confrontations within the fan community.
