FIFTY FIFTY Returns with ‘Starry Night’ Following Legal Struggles and Lineup Changes

The response to FIFTY FIFTY’s comeback has been overwhelmingly positive.

On Friday, FIFTY FIFTY unveiled their pre-release track “Starry Night” from their upcoming mini-album through social media. The song’s bouncy and refreshing rhythm expresses excitement and marks a hopeful new beginning for the group.

Starting with five stars soaring into the sky, the music video showcases the unique personalities of FIFTY FIFTY’s five members. Despite their rapid rise to fame with the hit track “Cupid” last year, FIFTY FIFTY has encountered considerable challenges following conflicts with their former agency, ATTRAKT. In June 2023, all members of the group filed for a provisional injunction to halt the effectiveness of their exclusive contracts with ATTRAKT.

In response, ATTRAKT publicly suspended FIFTY FIFTY’s activities and accused external forces of enticing the members to breach their contracts. The agency specifically named three individuals, including CEO Ahn Seong Il, as being behind the recruitment efforts and lodged a complaint with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station for breach of trust and obstruction of business.

FIFTY FIFTY initially lost their case regarding the provisional injunction and sought to appeal the decision. However, member Kina withdrew her appeal and announced her return to ATTRAKT. This led to restructuring the group around Kina, marking their official reformation as a five-member ensemble.

After overcoming this turbulent period and returning with a fresh lineup, FIFTY FIFTY is poised to make a comeback with their highly anticipated pre-release track “Starry Night.” Fans can look forward to their mini-album release on September 20, signaling the group’s exciting new chapter.
