NewJeans Drama Again! Dolphiners and ADOR Split Over Music Video Controversy

TV Report Views

Dolphiners, the team behind many of NewJeans’ standout music videos, has announced they will no longer work with ADOR.

On Monday, Shin Woo Seok, CEO of Dolphiners, revealed that recent policy changes under ADOR’s new management had led the company to demand the removal of all NewJeans-related content that Dolphiners had created and uploaded. Additionally, any future videos will not be allowed for public release.

Shin Woo Seok explained that the Dolphiners and Ban Hee Soo channels primarily serve as a portfolio archive and generate no profit. “These videos and channels were created to produce quality content for the fans, not for revenue,” he noted. ADOR’s revised policies have removed all associated content from these platforms.

In his apology, Shin expressed regret, saying, “It seems impossible for Dolphiners to continue collaborating with ADOR from today. We had planned several future projects with NewJeans, but unfortunately, we can no longer fulfill them. I am deeply sorry for our staff who worked tirelessly and, most importantly, for the fans who have been eagerly waiting.”

As a result, Dolphiners has removed all videos related to Ban Hee Soo and NewJeans.

ADOR responded by clarifying that the issue stemmed from the director’s cut of the ETA music video, which had been posted on Dolphiners’ social media without proper agreements with advertisers. “The copyrights for NewJeans’ music videos and related content belong to ADOR, as per our contract,” the company stated. “The ETA music video, including the director’s cut, should be featured on our official channel to protect the artist’s rights.”

ADOR also clarified that their request was solely to stop posting the director’s cut videos and did not involve deleting all NewJeans-related content. “Our channel operation policy remains unchanged,” they said.

ADOR disputed Shin Woo Seok’s claim that the company demanded the removal of all NewJeans content from the Ban Hee Soo channel, calling it false. They added, “We deeply regret Dolphiners’ breach of contract and the spread of misinformation.”

The shake-up comes as ADOR recently appointed Kim Joo Young as the new CEO. This follows the dismissal of former CEO Min Hee Jin, who is contesting the decision as a “unilateral dismissal.”
