Tailor Made Roma Spider
Minimizing Waste Through Recycled Materials
Exhibited at the Ferrari Museum for 5 Months
Ferrari has introduced a special version of its Roma Spider, designed by the brand’s Tailor Made department, which focuses on customization and personalization. This unique Roma Spider, which recently won the Best Design Award from Germany’s Red Dot Association, will be on display at the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena as part of the One of a Kind exhibition from October 11, 2024, until February 2025.
The exhibit aims to push the boundaries of sustainable materials and advanced manufacturing techniques, further expanding Ferrari’s personalization options for its discerning clientele.
Thread Extracted from Recycled Tires
Recycled Aluminum Used in Engine
The most special part of the Tailor Made Roma Spider is the fabric work on the center panel of the seats. It is hand-sewn using leather from the interior and uses thread extracted from recycled tires, highlighting the innovative parts production technology. Ferrari is also the first to laser-engrave the shield logo on the front wing of an aluminum body part.
In addition, Ferrari has minimized waste by using recycled aluminum from the foundry production process to make some parts of the twin-turbo V8 engine. Ferrari’s efforts to minimize waste are also evident in the fact that the center console is made from recycled sand removed from the castings in the Maranello foundry.
Travel Concept Collaboration with Montblanc
This special Tailor Made Roma Spider also adopts a travel concept, with a unique collaboration between Ferrari and luxury brand Montblanc. Together, they’ve produced a special edition of Montblanc’s iconic Meisterstück writing instrument, which mirrors the Oro Mida exterior color of the vehicle. The writing instrument is plated in platinum and features a compass motif, engraved on the bonnet of the car.
Ferrari and Montblanc have further collaborated to create a matching logbook, covered in the same recycled leather used in the car’s interior. The logbook is also engraved with the coordinates of Maranello, Ferrari’s home, making this collection a perfect match for the car’s exclusive, travel-inspired design.
