Ford Unveils 2025 Bronco Free Wheeling
Retro Exterior Package
Features a Gradient Design
Ford has introduced a new Free Wheeling exterior package for the 2025 Bronco. It’s a modern take on the Free Wheeling decor package available on the Bronco, F-150, and Econoline vans in the late 70s and early 80s.
In the past, the design was integrated with a gradient method, but the freewheeling package applied to the 2025 Bronco is characterized by dividing the layers in a line shape. However, consumers’ reactions to this retro design were said to be mixed.
Pair It with the Sasquatch Package for Enhanced Off-Road Capabilities
Although the Free Wheeling package was available on the 2024 Bronco Sport, it debuted on the full-size Bronco lineup for 2025. Offered as an option on the Big Bend trim, the package can also be paired with the Sasquatch Package, which takes the Bronco’s off-road capability to new heights.
The Sasquatch Package upgrades include 35-inch Goodyear off-road tires for improved traction, a 10 mm (0.4-inch) increase in ground clearance to enhance approach and departure angles, and beadlock wheels for better durability in rugged environments. The package also includes front and rear electronic locking differentials and Billstein shock absorbers, further maximizing the Bronco’s off-road performance.
Retro Styling with Bold Sunset-Inspired Colors
In the case of the Free Wheeling Package, the side is applied with red, orange, and yellow stripes to create a gradient reminiscent of the sunset. Black accents on the bumpers and side mirrors add a touch of sophistication, while the roof is available in standard soft top or removable hard top options, with shadow black as a color choice.
There is no significant difference in design between the front and rear. The rectangular grille with chrome material and the circular lamp design are harmonious. Red points are added to the 17-inch black high-gloss steel wheels when selecting the Sasquatch package. A circular red color line is added along the layout outside the wheel.
Interior Brings the Retro Theme Inside
For the interior, the retro design continues. The same colorful stripes as the exterior package continue on the top of the seat. Marine-grade vinyl and fabric materials are applied to the seats for high durability. Red and orange points are applied to the top of the dashboard to add visual points.
“We’ve modernized the new Bronco Free Wheeling in line with today’s fashion and graphic trends,” said Steve Gilmore, senior designer for Ford Personalization, which creates customized vehicles. He added, “The seats that mimic the color palette of the exterior stripes and unique pops of color that come together in an optimistic way.” The 2025 Ford Bronco Free Wheeling is expected to go on sale in January 2025.
