Yul Hee, a former member of the girl group La Boum, has made serious allegations against her ex-husband, Choi Min Hwan of FT Island, claiming he frequented adult entertainment venues. In response, his agency, FNC Entertainment, is preparing an official statement.
On Friday, FNC Entertainment stated, “We are currently verifying the facts regarding the allegations against Choi Min Hwan.”
The day before, Yul Hee revealed on her YouTube channel that a significant incident occurred about a year before their divorce, stating, “From that moment, our married life changed completely.”
She shared, “His family enjoys drinking. They would win money playing card games with relatives. He would stuff cash into my chest when he was in a good mood. I was too young to understand the culture surrounding adult entertainment. His drunken behavior was a pattern.” She continued, “My ex-husband would touch me inappropriately in front of his family. At the time, I thought it was just excessive affection due to his drunkenness.”
Yul Hee also released audio recordings as evidence of Choi Min Hwan’s visits to adult entertainment venues. In the recordings, he can be heard saying to someone presumed to be an acquaintance from the establishment, “They say there are no girls,” and “I came out secretly; please make a reservation.”
Yul Hee and Choi Min Hwan married in 2018 after a premarital pregnancy, earning the title of idol couple. They later welcomed three children and appeared on various reality shows, showcasing their family life. However, in December 2023, they unexpectedly announced their divorce, drawing significant public attention. Choi Min Hwan currently has custody of their three children.
Following the divorce, Yul Hee reportedly faced a barrage of negative comments online. She recently expressed during a television appearance, “I didn’t sense a crisis. The divorce happened suddenly.” This was followed by claims that Yul Hee had left home during their marriage, further escalating the controversy.
