The teaser poster for the film About Family has been released.

About Family follows the story of a dumpling restaurant owner, played by Kim Yoon Seok, whose business is at risk because his son, Ham Moon Seok (Lee Seung Gi), has become a monk. Unexpectedly, adorable grandchildren arrive, leading to an unforeseen and heartwarming cohabitation experience.

Director Yang Woo Suk, known for films like The Attorney and Steel Rain, returns to the big screen with About Family, which will be released on December 11. The teaser poster and trailer showcase Kim Yoon Seok as Ham Moo Ok, the owner of a 38-year-old traditional dumpling restaurant.

The newly released poster reveals a side of Kim Yoon Seok that audiences have never seen before. This winter, he embodies the spirit of South Korean small business owners, bringing warmth to theaters. The teaser features the serious tagline, “Will the 38-year-old dumpling dynasty stand or fall?” juxtaposed with an image of Kim Yoon Seok meticulously crafting dumplings, creating a humorous contrast.

The teaser trailer highlights Yang Woo Suk’s authentic direction and the film’s delightful atmosphere. It begins with scenes of Ham Moo Ok, the bustling owner of Pyeongmanok dumpling restaurant, before transitioning to a live radio broadcast featuring his son, Ham Moon Seok, who has taken a monastic vow. During the broadcast, news breaks that a child has come to visit Moon Seok, igniting the film’s tumultuous storyline. The chemistry between Kim Yun Seok as the dumpling shop owner and Lee Seung Gi, who has shaved his head for the role, generates considerable excitement. With a lively cast that includes Kim Sung Ryung, Kang Han Na, Park Soo Young, and young actors Kim Si Woo and Yoon Chae Na, the film promises a rich and entertaining experience that audiences won’t want to miss this winter.

When it hits theaters on December 11, About Family will deliver a satisfying cinematic experience, much like perfectly crafted dumplings.

Meanwhile, Lee Seung Gi married actress Kyeon Mi Ri’s daughter, Lee Da In, in April of 2023 and welcomed their first daughter in February.
