Chrysler’s New SUV
Planned for 2025 Launch
Anticipating Futuristic Design
Chrysler, once a defining symbol of American automotive innovation, has faced increasing scrutiny in recent years. Once known for a diverse lineup that represented the essence of American cars, the brand has seen most of its models discontinued. Today, Chrysler’s only remaining offering is the Pacifica, a minivan still popular with families but not enough to sustain the brand’s former prestige.
Following financial troubles in 2009, Fiat acquired Chrysler, which led to the loss of many iconic models from its Jeep and Dodge lines. This drastically reduced lineup has jeopardized Chrysler’s profitability, with the brand struggling to stay relevant in a rapidly evolving market. However, Chrysler is now working on a new model that could mark a pivotal moment in its turnaround efforts.
Based on the STLA Electric Vehicle Platform
Plans to Launch Large Electric SUV
Chrysler, struggling with a limited lineup, is preparing to introduce an entirely new large electric SUV by 2025. Positioned as a family-oriented vehicle, this upcoming SUV is expected to be built on Stellantis’ STLA platform, specifically designed for electric cars. The new model is also rumored to share some design DNA with the Jeep Wagoneer S. While the full details are still under wraps, early indications suggest that the SUV will feature Chrysler’s distinct design elements inside and out.
The new Chrysler SUV is scheduled to be released in 2025. It is interpreted as a strategy to attract consumers, as SUVs with high utility, such as family cars, have recently been in high demand and growing in the US market. Although specific details about the powertrain, performance, and features remain undisclosed, recent renderings have given a glimpse into the futuristic design, hinting at what Chrysler’s long-awaited electric SUV might bring.
Horizontal Daytime Running Light Line
Emphasis on Curved Body Shape
This rendering, which appears to reflect Chrysler’s latest design elements, was created by a virtual artist imagining the design of a future Chrysler SUV. Looking at it in detail, the front end features a design with its horizontally extending daytime running lights (DRL). It has a design feature extends in two lines below the bonnet parting line.
As an electric vehicle, there is no grille, and the smooth front body extends in a streamlined shape. The bonnet line is also curved and harmonious. Points are placed in the bumper area to enhance the sporty atmosphere. In the lower part, a large air intake is positioned horizontally.
Sleek Air Intake Applied
Strip-shaped Taillamps Arranged
The split air intake is placed vertically on the front side to give a sharp feeling. On the side, circular wheel arches are applied, starting with futuristic design wheels with pentagonal patterns. The side body with the hidden-type door handle reveals a smooth volume and a flowing form.
In addition, a high window belt line and a thin chrome garnish are applied along the sloping roof line, and the B pillar is molded in black to create the effect of the side window continuing. The rear features a strip-shaped tail lamp. The Chrysler logo is located in the center. The bumper with black high-gloss emphasizes sophistication and is integrated with a horizontal reflector.
