Sunwoo, a member of The Boyz, was recently assaulted by a stalker near the group’s residence. On Thursday, IST Entertainment, the agency representing The Boyz, issued a statement addressing the ongoing threats to the safety and privacy of their artists.
In their statement, the agency outlined a series of troubling illegal activities they’ve been grappling with, including unauthorized visits to the group’s private spaces, intrusions during off-schedule hours, the spreading of malicious rumors, aggressive photo and video taking at airports, following the members’ vehicles, and attempts to contact them using illegally obtained personal information. These actions have caused significant emotional and material harm to the artists and their families, friends, and associates.
In an alarming revelation, the agency shared details of a violent incident involving Sunwoo. On Saturday, after returning from a schedule and approaching his residence, Sunwoo encountered a stalker hiding in the building’s emergency stairwell. Feeling threatened, Sunwoo immediately alerted the agency’s staff. The staff quickly apprehended the intruder and handed them over to the police.
During the struggle to restrain the fleeing stalker, both Sunwoo and the staff members were assaulted multiple times. The perpetrator was arrested on-site and charged with trespassing and assault and is currently under police investigation. The agency confirmed that Sunwoo and the staff members involved received immediate medical treatment at a nearby hospital and are being closely monitored for further health concerns.
The agency also disclosed other alarming incidents, including the discovery of a GPS tracking device on one of the artist’s vehicles and intentional damage to the car’s tires. Upon discovering the devices, the agency acted quickly to prevent further harm. They have secured CCTV footage and filed a police report with authorities.
In conclusion, the agency reaffirmed its strict stance on privacy violations and illegal actions, emphasizing that these incidents are unlawful and cause substantial emotional and material damage to the artists and their team. IST Entertainment stated, “We have a zero-tolerance policy toward such behavior and will take all necessary legal action against those who continue to infringe on the rights of our artists.”
