Suzuki’s Jimny, a mini SUV celebrated for its compact size and robust off-road capabilities, continues to captivate enthusiasts worldwide. Its charm lies in its blend of light car compliance and genuine SUV performance. The vehicle has inspired a devoted fanbase, leading to a thriving aftermarket tuning culture. Among these, the German tuner Brabus has gained attention for transforming the Jimny into a striking replica of the iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Class, or G-Wagen.

Recently, a Brabus-tuned Suzuki Jimny sold for an eye-popping price at auction, highlighting the vehicle’s enduring appeal and the added value of customization.

Brabus-Tuned Jimny Fetches Over $48,000 at Auction

On the UK auction site Collecting Cars, a 2021 Suzuki Jimny Sierra with a Brabus G-Class body kit garnered significant attention. With just 15,743 km (9,782 miles) on the odometer, the vehicle was sold for GBP 38,500 (approximately $48,619). This price is more than four times the cost of a new Jimny, underscoring the premium placed on its unique customization.

Originally sold in Japan, the Jimny was exported to the UK and registered earlier this year. The Brabus body kit transformed its exterior with G-Class-inspired round headlamps, over fenders, and a detailed bonnet. Its 20-inch aluminum wheels further elevated its imposing presence.

Luxurious Interior with G-Class Aesthetics

The Jimny’s interior also received an extensive makeover. While retaining the original dashboard and door trim layout, the cabin adopts a premium G-Class feel. Camel-colored leather covers the seats, door trims, shift lever knee rests, and even the floor mats, adding a touch of luxury. The dashboard and steering column are painted to match, creating a cohesive design.

Other notable features include a reworked steering wheel, a passenger-side dashboard handle, and carbon trim around the infotainment display. Despite the luxury upgrades, the Jimny retains its original powertrain: a 1.5L inline 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, delivering a modest but reliable 102 horsepower and 13.3 kgf·m of torque.

Demand Remains Strong Despite Limited Availability

As expected for a vehicle with a high-end body kit, this Brabus-tuned Suzuki Jimny is in excellent condition. Since its initial launch, the car has had two owners and accumulated 13,036 km (8,100 miles) by its last regular inspection, passed without any issues. However, a minor quirk remains: an LED headlamp upgrade has triggered a persistent headlight warning light on the dashboard. Fortunately, this can reportedly be resolved through vehicle coding.

Despite the second-generation Suzuki Jimny debuting in July 2018, new models remain in short supply globally, leading to prolonged wait times. The vehicle’s scarcity has kept used models in high demand, often commanding prices above their original retail value. This trend is particularly noticeable for early production models, which are so sought after that they consistently sell for premiums over the cost of a brand-new Jimny. This enduring market enthusiasm underscores Jimny’s highly coveted mini SUV status.
