OH MY GIRL’s Hyojung recently shared her excitement about becoming a full-time radio DJ, likening the experience to “landing a job.”
On Monday, the official OH MY GIRL YouTube channel released a new video titled “[OH MY GIRL SKETCHBOOK] Behind the Scenes: Hyojung’s Volume Up Production Presentation & Live Broadcast.” The footage offers fans an exclusive look at Hyojung’s behind-the-scenes journey in preparing for her new show, Volume Up.
When asked how it feels to be the official DJ, Hyojung said, “It feels like I’ve just entered the workforce.”
Explaining the difference between being a guest DJ and a full-time host, she said, “As a guest DJ, you give it your all for a set period. But now that I’m in it for the long haul, I see myself as a dedicated professional. I plan to approach each day with focus and consistency.” She added, “The producer advised me not to burn out too quickly by overexerting myself at the start. I’ll aim to keep a steady energy level from the beginning.”
Reflecting on her goals as a DJ, Hyojung shared, “According to my MBTI, while I’m naturally more of a Thinking type, I’m working on embracing my Feeling side. I want to be a DJ who offers both logical insights and emotional support, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere.” She also expressed her gratitude toward her bandmates, saying, “I’m really thankful to the members for their support. I didn’t expect everyone to show up for the live broadcast.”
During their guest appearances on the show, Seunghee offered words of encouragement, saying, “We’re here to support you on your radio debut. I hope you continue to spread positive energy and happiness to your listeners as DJ Hyojung.”
Hyojung reflected on the experience of having her members by her side, laughing, “Their presence made me nervous but excited. People always say OH MY GIRL gives them energy, and I definitely felt that today. It’s invigorating,” she said. “I’m so touched and grateful that they came to support me.”
Hyojung has been hosting OH MY GIRL Hyojung’s Volume Up on KBS Cool FM since November 25.
