Singer Na Hoon-A Calls North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un ‘Fat Pig’

TV Report Views

Na Hoon-A, South Korea’s national singer, made a sharp comment toward North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, calling him a “fat pig.” How did the North Korean defectors feel? Their candid reactions were revealed through the show Now On My Way to Meet You.

On June 2, the South Korean variety show Now On My Way to Meet You. revealed what happened after Na Hoon-A’s critique.

Na Hoon-A’s retirement was a hot topic during the show’s opening segment. Na Hoon-A, who is currently on a nationwide tour before his retirement, shared in his first performance, “I don’t consider the North a country. It’s a strange group, not a country. The ‘pig’ named Kim Jong Un from the North doesn’t care if people starve to death or not,” launching a sharp critique towards Kim Jong Un.

In response, the MCs wondered, “What do you think would happen if Kim Jong Un heard this?” One defector responded, “When I saw this news, I felt vicarious satisfaction. I’m grateful that he said what I wanted to say,” expressing his honest feelings.

He explained, “This is a fact, as people who recently came from North Korea say the same thing. In reality, it’s harder now than during the Arduous March. There are a lot of people starving to death,” describing the current situation of rampant starvation in North Korea.

He further speculated, “After reading this article, I wonder if Kim Jong Un was annoyed and stressed, causing a fuss and overeating. He must have been furious,” expressing his concern.
