Korean Air has ranked 12th on the list of the world’s safest airlines. Air New Zealand took the top spot.
According to the industry on the 11th, Korean Air ranked 12th in the Top 25 Safest Airlines for 2024, as announced by Airline Ratings, an Australian aviation industry specialist website.
Air New Zealand and Qantas Airways competed for the top two spots, with Air New Zealand taking the lead in aircraft age, making it the safest airline in the world.
Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, and Emirates, all from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), made it into the top ten. These airlines ranked 4th, 5th, and 6th respectively.
They were followed by All Nippon Airways, Finnair, Cathay Pacific Airways, Alaska Airlines, and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS).
From 13th to 20th place were Singapore Airlines, EVA Air, British Airways, Turkish Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, Lufthansa/Swiss Group, KLM, and Japan Airlines.
From 21st to 25th place were Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Air France, Air Canada, and United Airlines.
Airline Ratings conducts an annual review of 385 airlines based on the audit results of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and aviation administration agencies, aircraft accident records, and age. It uses a seven-tier rating system launched in 2013 to rate airline safety and product grades.
