Kia Dominates Last Month’s Sales Charts as the Best-Selling Car

Kia, global sales increased by 4.2% compared to the same period last year

Especially, an increase in SUV sales… Sorento is popular in Korea

Kia announced that it sold a total of 244,940 cars in the global market in January this year. This is a 4.2% increase compared to the same period last year.

The most sold vehicle in the global market was the Sportage, with a total of 45,905 units sold. This was followed by the Seltos and Sorento, with sports utility vehicles gaining significant popularity.

In Korea, the Sorento recorded the highest sales number with 9,284 units. A total of 13,191 sedans, including 4,130 Rays, 3,336 K5s, and 2,917 K8s, were sold.

A total of 28,221 leisure vehicles, including the Sorento, 7,049 Carnivals, 5,934 Sportages, and 3,944 Seltos, were sold.

Looking at the overseas performance by model, the Sportage sold the most with 39,971 units, followed by the Seltos with 23,573 units and the K3 with 17,643 units.

A total of 259 special vehicles were sold, with 75 in Korea and 184 abroad.

A Kia official said, “Last month, our EV9 won the North American Car of the Year, and four models, including the Telluride, named the U.S. Best Cars for the Money in U.S., which proves that Kia’s vehicles are recognized for their competitive edge. We will continue to make steady sales, focusing on advanced markets this year.”
