Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has been accused of using drugs at a party with current and former directors. Witnesses allege that Musk acted like a king, creating an atmosphere that pressured those present to use drugs.
On the 3rd (local time), the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) cited multiple sources stating that the current and former directors of Musk’s companies, such as Tesla and SpaceX, felt this pressure.
WSJ had previously reported on suspicions of Musk’s drug use last month.
At the time, Musk completely denied the allegations, stating that “neither drugs nor alcohol was detected in the test”.
In its report today, WSJ specifically mentioned the location of the drug party that Musk allegedly attended.
Musk has been attending social gatherings at the Austin Proper Hotel in Texas for the past few years, and it was here that he allegedly used ketamine for pleasure multiple times, using a nasal spray, according to WSJ.
The report included quotes from several sources who were either present at the scene of Musk’s alleged drug use or were well aware of the situation.
According to the report, these directors and Musk’s close associates felt they had to use drugs with him due to the atmosphere he created.
It was also revealed that the board of directors of the companies Musk controls did not record this in the meeting minutes to prevent it from being made public.
WSJ reported that “current and former directors of Tesla and SpaceX knew about Musk’s illegal drug use but did not take public action”.
The reason for this was that they did not want to upset Musk, especially since he had brought them substantial wealth, according to the sources.
These directors did not want to lose the social assets they gained by being close to Musk, and some even felt as if they were close to a king.
Musk and his lawyer have not made any comments on these allegations.
