Potential Discussions on AI and XR Collaboration
Possibility of Meeting with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae Yong
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, who plans to visit Korea at the end of this month, will likely meet with William Cho, LG’s chief strategy officer.
According to Yonhap News, on the 25th, the two parties discussed that Zuckerberg would meet with Cho during this visit to Korea. However, it has not yet been decided whether they will meet.
Suppose a meeting between Zuckerberg and Cho is arranged. In that case, they are expected to discuss collaboration strategies related to next-generation technologies and products such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Extended Reality (XR), as Meta is actively involved in the AI technology competition. Recently, Meta announced plans to develop its own General Artificial Intelligence (AGI), which is as close to or exceeds human intelligence.
Zuckerberg’s visit to Korea is the first in nearly 10 years since June 2013. He then visited Korea for a two-day schedule and met with then-President Park Geun Hye and Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman (current executive chairman) Lee Jae Yong.
It is known that Zuckerberg is arranging a schedule to meet with President Yoon Suk Yeol during his visit to Korea. It is also possible that he will discuss AI semiconductor collaboration with Samsung Executive Chairman Lee Jae Yong.
