Ford’s 7th Generation Mustang
Supercharger Kit Launch
Can Boost Power Up to 810 Horsepower
Ford previewed a new supercharger kit for the 2024 Mustang at the SEMA show last November. Through upgrades, Ford promised to increase the car’s output to over 800 horsepower. In line with this promise, Ford has announced it will offer a supercharger kit for the 2024 Mustang model.
The kit can boost power to 810 horsepower and increase the RPM to 7,500. Ford revealed that it developed the supercharger kit in collaboration with engine manufacturer “Whipple Superchargers” and tested it according to Ford’s own OEM durability standards.
10 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque
Ford has released a supercharger kit priced at $9,995 for the 2024 Mustang GT and Dark Horse models. The supercharger kit can boost the 5.0-liter V8 engine’s 480 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque to 810 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque, respectively. Purchasing the supercharger kit also includes essential upgrades for the air and fuel systems.
A 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, a 92mm throttle body from the Mustang GT500, and port fuel injectors are included to achieve higher output figures. Ford announced a plan to reveal a Mustang FP800S concept car equipped with the new Ford Performance supercharger kit at this year’s SEMA show.
Compatible with Automatic and Manual Transmissions
Strictly Complies with CARB Regulations
Ford states that the supercharger kit is compatible with automatic and manual transmissions. They also revealed a plan to launch a version designed for the Mustang Dark Horse soon. The supercharger kit strictly complies with CARB regulations, and Ford offers a warranty for approximately 36,000 miles over 3 years.
The Mustang FP800S concept car is said to have received treatment similar to the Ford F-150 FP700. It features the new supercharger and four Borla Extreme Cat-Back exhaust systems with 5.0-inch tips. Moreover, the concept car has a lower ground clearance, carbon fiber parts, and stronger half shafts.
Supercharger kits cannot be used in vehicles in California
The Mustang FP800S concept car is expected to go into actual production. When the official images of the FP800S concept car were released, the vehicle’s exterior, with its white accent grille matching the wheel color and side body stripes, drew significant attention. Meanwhile, Ford has reportedly obtained certification to use the supercharger kit in 49 states, excluding California.
According to the product description, the supercharger kit cannot be legally registered or used in vehicles within the state of California as it has not received approval. Ford may have failed to obtain approval due to California’s strict carbon emission laws.
