BMW Owner’s Action That Even Confounded the Police

TV Report Views

On the 1st, a post titled ‘Real-Time Daegu Nam-gu Apartment Road Blocker’ sparked discussion on an online community.

A user reported that a BMW vehicle was obstructing the entrance of an apartment building due to dissatisfaction with parking registration. A supplemented the post with a photo showing a black car parked horizontally in front of the apartment entrance, blocking the parking barrier.

The user expressed frustration, stating, “Despite efforts from the apartment representative and the police, communication with the car owner was unsuccessful. The police eventually left, unable to intervene further. The car remains abandoned like that, and it’s astonishing that such behavior still exists in 2024.”

The user added, “The black car isn’t registered in the owner’s name, and the owner failed to submit insurance records, resulting in the management office’s refusal to register the vehicle. The car owner left without removing the vehicle, causing security guards to manage parking at the entrance throughout the night tirelessly.”

Furthermore, the user commented on the inadequacy of legal consequences, saying, “Upon researching lawsuit precedents, fines ranging from 1.5 to 3 million won seem insignificant to the car owner considering the inconvenience and hardship faced by apartment residents and security guards.”

On the other hand, the problem of parking villains causing various damages continues to persist nationwide.

In February, an online automotive community posted a topic titled “What should we do about parking villains?” which garnered significant attention from netizens.

Another user shared their concerns about an incident involving a teacher from a nearby school who repeatedly caused parking issues. They expressed frustration, questioning why the teacher behaved so irresponsibly despite identifying herself as an educator.

According to the post, the teacher prevented other vehicles from passing and parked inconsiderately, even turning off her cell phone. They also mentioned experiencing inconveniences, such as taking a taxi in the morning due to the teacher’s car.

The most problematic and shocking aspect was that the teacher, who wasn’t a resident of the second user’s apartment complex, repeatedly intruded without permission for over a year, causing distress to the second user and other residents by persistently engaging in nuisance parking. Although the apartment complex had a barrier, it was often left open, allowing the teacher to trespass.

In the photo shared by the second user, the teacher can be seen parking her car halfway into a spot or even diagonally, creating a situation where the previously parked cars couldn’t move.

Netizens empathized with the second user’s concerns. They criticized the teacher, expressing sentiments such as, “Seems like there’s a serious mental issue,” “A teacher without any moral integrity,” and “Who is such a person teaching?”

Some netizens commented, “Filing a complaint with the education office might lead to a quick resolution.” Upon this, the second user immediately mentioned reporting the parking villain teacher to the education office and finally received an apology. The second user ensured closure by stating, “Formally apologize for the illegal parking and promise not to do it again. Otherwise, I will report you for misconduct to the National Petition Office and the Ministry of Education” via a chat application. The teacher responded, “I apologize. I won’t enter again.” The second user, who had initially not considered reporting to the education office, expressed regret for attempting to resolve the issue solely through dialogue and thanked the netizen who informed them of this option.

The second user, who authored the post, expressed gratitude to the netizen who informed them of the option to report to the education office. They admitted that they had not considered this route and regretted their initial attempt to resolve the situation solely through dialogue.
