During a military training exercise overseen by the North Korean State Affairs Commission, Kim Jong Un and his daughter, Ju Ae, an accident occurred, resulting in casualties.

The incident occurred on the 15th of last month during the training of airborne troops from the 111th Special Operations Forces. Government authorities reported that strong winds caused parachutes to tangle, leading to difficulties in proper descent, with some individuals becoming entangled in the transport aircraft.

However, the media in North Korea did not mention the accident at all.

The Korean Central News Agency reported the next day that “the soldiers poured into the simulated enemy lines like hail” and “showed off their perfect combat capabilities,” suggesting that the training proceeded normally.

Kim praised the “airborne troops who successfully conducted combat training” and took commemorative photos.

According to reliable sources and experts on North Korea, the parachute drop training continued despite challenging weather conditions, such as solid winds, allegedly due to the presence of Kim Jong Un’s daughter.

Among the soldiers who perished in the accident, some were reported to be in their early 20s.

It was believed that the real goal of the North Korean authorities was to highlight Kim Jong Un’s daughter, regardless of the fate of the soldiers.

On the day of the incident, Ju Ae observed the training through a telescope, and state media distributed photos of her doing so. This action of observation with a telescope is typically associated with the supreme leader, indicating a symbolic elevation of Ju Ae’s status within the regime.

According to, an accident occurred at a North Korean artillery firing training ground on the 7th of last month, resulting in the death of approximately ten soldiers.

The incident occurred during a large-scale artillery firing exercise in the Nampo area, involving 170mm self-propelled guns and 240mm multiple rocket launchers. An intelligence official said, “There were a few guns that did not fire properly, and there was also a vehicle accident. It was determined that about ten soldiers died.”

However, Korean Central TV reported, “Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction with the flawless preparation for combat mobilization.”

Meanwhile, Kim Jong Un continued his unit inspection schedule despite consecutive accidents during military training.

On the 24th of last month, he inspected the command of the 105th Guards Seoul Ryu Kyong-Su Armored Division of the Korean People’s Army and the directly subordinate 1st Tank Armored Infantry Regiment. Notably, this is the North Korean army that initially entered Seoul after the outbreak of the Korean War.

During the inspection, Kim emphasized the need to enhance soldiers’ dietary life and improve living conditions.
