A documentary recently released by EBS has been garnering attention online. The released video appears to be an edited version of “Interview Korea 2018, Part 3: The Dream of Hitting the Jackpot,” which aired in June 2018.
The video features the story of a husband who is now living as a full-time house-husband after taking an honorary retirement thanks to his wife, a cryptocurrency genius.
The main characters of the story are Lee Da Eun, who lived as an ordinary housewife and dramatically changed her life after hitting the jackpot with her cryptocurrency investments, and Kang Ho Geon, who became a house-husband after retirement.
During the broadcast, Da Eun revealed that her earnings were a staggering $1.9 million, which drew envy from viewers.

Da Eun explained, “I owned Ethereum. Speculation is when I put in $750 and hope that it will become $1,500 the day after tomorrow.” She added, “I’m entering my senior years now, and I’ve seen many elderly people who are unprepared for retirement picking up trash. I thought that as long as I didn’t do it in the form of speculation without debt, I could secure enough funds for retirement.” She explained the secret to the success of the investment.
Da Eun, who originally lived as an ordinary housewife, seized her opportunity through relentless study. Thanks to Da Eun’s investment success, her husband has taken on a new role as a full-time house-husband after retiring from a shipping company.
Ho Geon admitted with a bitter smile, “After retirement, I realized I had no skills to find work anywhere else.” He added, “We lived in Busan, but when my wife decided to move to Seoul, we naturally moved together.”
Ho Geon seemed very proud of his work as a full-time house-husband, making viewers smile.
Indeed, the couple’s lives have significantly changed since the successful investment. Da Eun recalled, “I paid off my debt of more than $750,000 and bought a watch for my husband,” adding, “I think my concept about money has changed.”

From this perspective, real estate and stocks can also become speculative.” She repeatedly stressed the importance of being cautious about speculation.

There are no recent updates on Da Eun and Ho Geon’s current situation. However, it’s predicted that the couple, who made $1.9 million six years ago, may have earned even more by now.
Ethereum, the cryptocurrency Da Eun invested in, is a native currency of the public blockchain Ethereum, created by Vitalik Buterin in 2015.
It is one of the most representative cryptocurrencies, along with Bitcoin, and anyone interested in cryptocurrency investment would have heard of it at least once.
