Former 1TYM member and producer Teddy
Contributed to Creating BLACKPINK
Being Re-evaluated Positively Due to the “Min Hee Jin Incident”
Producer Teddy is being re-evaluated due to the “Min Hee Jin incident.”
Teddy debuted in 1998 as a rapper and producer for 1TYM, a hip-hop group under YG Entertainment.
After 1TYM effectively disbanded, he began working as the leading producer for YG Entertainment in 2006.
He later established THEBLACKLABEL, a label under YG, in 2015 and took the position of CEO, but he has since stepped down to focus on being an executive producer.
While at YG Entertainment, Teddy produced for acts like BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK.
He oversaw the overall production of 2NE1 and BLACKPINK, from concept to song, making him one of the main contributors to creating BLACKPINK.
As one of the representative music producers of the three major entertainment agencies in Korea, he is said to enjoy spending up to 18 hours a day in the studio creating music.
YG CEO Yang Hyun Suk has praised Teddy, saying, “Although he’s younger than me, he’s a colleague and friend with whom I have many discussions and share opinions. If I were to retire, Teddy would be the one to carry on the musical aspects of YG.”
With the current focus on Teddy due to the HYBE and Min Hee Jin incident, viewers online are reacting with comments such as “Looking at it now, he’s amazing,” “I’ve never seen Teddy showing off,” “He’s never been greedy for money or power, truly impressive,” “Teddy seemed to dislike even showing his face,” and “This isn’t surprising, it’s the norm.”
Meanwhile, Min Hee Jin, the CEO and producer of ADOR, is currently under suspicion of embezzlement from parent company HYBE.
