The tall actor Joo Won, who stands at 6.1 feet, confessed to drinking baby formula in middle school because he wanted to grow taller.
On the 10th, a video titled “Joo Won Life Interview” was posted on the YouTube channel Geean84.
That day, Joo Won shared an anecdote about growing 7.9 inches taller a year after drinking baby formula in middle school, which surprised everyone.
He said, “At that time, they numbered students based on height, and I was the fourth. I was sitting in the front row, but I moved to the back row after the vacation.”
He revealed the secret of his rapid growth, saying, “There was a rumor at that time. It was not medically proven that ‘drinking baby formula makes you taller,’ so I thought, ‘There is nothing to lose,’ and drank it. It seems that the timing was just right. I ate it as a booster during my growth period.”
During this time, he also took off his glasses and got his first pair of contact lenses at the suggestion of his school’s club theater teacher.
Joo Won said, “When I first took off my glasses, friends said it was weird, just like the celebrity Yoo Jae Suk. But after I took them off, my face looked better. I think the teacher gave me good advice.”
As for why he decided to attend Kaywon High School of Arts after attending a regular school, he said, “I felt good when I joined the drama club in the 3rd grade of middle school and did drama. It was nice to be able to express myself, contrary to my introverted personality.” He also said, “I dreamed of becoming a musical actor and went to the Department of Acting and Art at Sungkyunkwan University.”
Eventually, he debuted in the musical “Altar Boyz” in 2007 and stood on the stage of “Grease,” “Spring Awakening,” etc., fulfilling his dream of becoming a musical actor.
Then, in 2010, he made his drama debut through “Bread, Love, and Dreams,” receiving great attention along with high ratings, and grew into a “trusted actor” by appearing in “Ojakgyo Family,” “Bridal Mask,” “Good Doctor,” “Yong-pal,” “Alice,” etc.
Recently, he is meeting viewers as Seo Ki Joo, a cranky photographer of a ghost-guest-only photo studio that exists only for the dead, in the relaxing drama “The Midnight Studio.”
