From Child Star to Adult Actress: Kokona Nakamori’s Bold Career Move

TV Report Views

A Japanese actress who rose to fame as a child has begun acting in films for mature audiences.

On March 19, Mirror Media reported that Japanese child actress Kokona Nakamori (20) transitioned to acting in adult roles. At 8 years old, she modeled for a snack company and slowly gained recognition for her role in “Hiyoko Kids (HYK Kids).” She won first place with the grand prize in an idol audition at 11 and became an underground idol at 15. Despite her success, Kokona Nakamori announced her retirement due to the difficulty balancing her studies and idol activities.

After years of inactivity, Nakamori generated buzz by announcing her debut as an exclusive actress for the Japanese adult film production company S1 on March 12. The pre-sale reservations for Nakamori’s debut achieved #1 on the “FANZA Sales Chart” before its official release. This seemed to reflect fans looking forward to seeing a new side of her as an adult.

Quite a few fans were shocked by the news of Nakamori’s career pivot as a former child actress. With Yua Mikami, one of the top actresses in the Japanese adult film industry, announcing her retirement, there seems to be fierce competition to be at the top position. Nakamori is one of many new actresses entering the industry.

Kokona Nakamori is 5’2″ tall and known for her F-cup-size breasts, a physical feature that contradicts her innocent appearance.
