Will Jungkook’s Solo Track ‘Standing Next to You’ Dethrone BTS’s ‘Butter’?

Jungkook has achieved a significant feat by keeping his songs on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 for an extended period.

On March 19, Jungkook’s solo album GOLDEN held strong at #100 on the main Billboard 200 chart. The album’s title track, “Standing Next to You,” also kept momentum, reaching #88 on the Hot 100. This impressive performance marks a record-breaking 19th consecutive week for “Standing Next to You” on the Hot 100.

With BTS’s “Butter” previously holding the record for 20 weeks on the Hot 100, anticipation swirled around whether “Standing Next to You” could surpass it. This modern take on the disco-punk sound, released in November 2023, continues its impressive run on the chart.

Meanwhile, Jungkook serves as a cook in the 5th Infantry Division of the Army, where Jin, the eldest member of the group, is a recruit trainer after completing his new soldier training. Last December, Jungkook enlisted with Jimin in the 5th Infantry Division’s new soldier training team in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province.

Jungkook recently completed his basic training at the 5th Infantry Division and now serves as an infantry chef. BTS’s eldest member, Jin, is also stationed at this division. Jungkook and Jimin enlisted in the 5th Infantry Division’s new soldier training program last December in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province.
