Too Hot for Social Media: Celebrities’ Revealing Photos Spark Controversy

TV Report Views

Celebrities are known for pushing the boundaries of fashion, and their eye-catching outfits can grab headlines in a flash. But sometimes, these daring choices can go too far, sparking public debate and furrowed brows. Here’s a look at recent celebrity outfits that have ignited controversy.

TWICE’s Chaeyoung and Jeon Somi stirred controversy by posting photos of themselves in their underwear in a photo booth on social media.

On April 3, Chaeyoung shared photos on social media taken after a date with her “11-year-long best friend” Jeon Somi.

Chaeyoung posted, “Almost our 11th April Fool’s Day date,” along with photos taken with Somi. The two are seen posing with wigs in a photo booth.

But Chaeyoung quickly deleted one photo, sparking curiosity among fans. The deleted image reportedly showed Chaeyoung and another person lifting their shirts, revealing their undergarments, and surprising viewers.

Somi, who saw the post then, left a comment laughing and saying, “Lol, oh my.”

Though Chaeyoung deleted the photo just 20 minutes after posting it, it had already gone viral, spreading quickly across online communities and social media.

While some viewers reacted positively with comments like “They’re just cute” and “It’s nice to see them getting along,” others expressed concerns. Comments like “Exposing in public places, they’re thoughtless” and “The store owner can see everything, they should be careful” reflected worries about the appropriateness of the photo’s content and location.

Rapper Yang Hongwon also made headlines for posting revealing photos on social media.

In the early morning of September 5, 2020, Yang Hongwon shared three photos on social media. The posts included a heart emoticon with no captions added.

One of the photos Yang Hongwon posted featured him in a compromising position, revealing his butt in the middle of an empty street. The photo was uncensored.

In the comments, Yang Hongwon included a reference to Shawn Michaels, an American wrestler known for an incident where he exposed his butt during a match. This is interpreted as Yang Hongwon comparing his photo to Michael’s moment.

Fans reacted with comments like “What the heck? Why is he doing this?”, “He’ll delete it in the morning,” and “He will regret this.”

Meanwhile, Yang Hongwon won Mnet’s “High School Rapper” in 2017 and later appeared in “Show Me the Money 8”.

Public scrutiny of revealing celebrity attire isn’t limited to one region. Rapper Kanye West sparked controversy when he shared revealing photos of his wife, Bianca Censori, on social media.

On February 6, Kanye posted a paparazzi-like photo on social media.

In the photo, Bianca Censori is wearing a transparent vinyl raincoat naked, with her butt fully exposed.

Viewers reacted negatively, with comments like “Is he trying to make a replica because he can’t forget his ex-wife Kim Kardashian?”, “This is not just excessive, it’s beyond that,” and “Why do I have to see this?”

Previously, in January, a nude photo of Bianca was posted on Kanye’s social media service, drawing criticism from viewers.
