With news of singer Zico’s comeback heating up, speculation mounts on a potential collaboration with BLACKPINK’s Jennie.
According to a report from TenAsia on April 4, Jennie will be featured in both the song and music video for Zico’s upcoming single, slated for release later this month. The close friends reportedly bonded over their music, and rumors suggest Jennie eagerly agreed to collaborate.
Zico’s agency, KOZ Entertainment, stated, “Zico is preparing for a comeback in April, and we ask for your understanding that it is difficult to confirm any other matters at this time.”
It’s been nearly two years since his last EP, Grown As Kid, dropped in July 2022. This exciting news, coinciding with his 10th anniversary as a solo artist, has fans buzzing with anticipation for Zico’s return with a collab with Jennie.
Fans responded enthusiastically, saying things like “This combination is crazy,” “When is the song coming out?”, “I didn’t know these two were friends,” “I hope Jennie raps in this collaboration,” “Jennie is working hard,” “This is an unimaginable combination,” “Already looking forward to the new song,” and “Jennie’s featuring and music video is crazy.”
Zico, who debuted in the entertainment industry as a member of the group BLOCK B in 2011, made a successful solo debut in 2014. Since then, he has established the label KOZ Entertainment under HYBE and is actively working as the executive producer of the rookie boy group BOYNEXTDOOR.
Recently, Jennie re-signed a team contract with YG Entertainment, but established her agency, ODD ATELIER, for her solo activities.
There have been several rumors of Jennie dating BTS’ V since May last year. There were sightings of the two in Jeju Island and Paris, France, but both sides denied to confirm, citing “artists’ privacy.”
