Atisha, a Taiwanese TV personality and former cheerleader, has recently opened up about the abuse she suffered from her mother, evoking sympathy from viewers.
On April 4, Atisha appeared on the Taiwanese program Is it Okay to be Single? And shared the various forms of abuse she endured from her mother during her difficult childhood.
Atisha confessed, “When I was in middle school, I had a crush on a senior at school. My mother misunderstood our relationship. She forcibly took me to a gynecologist and made me undergo a hymen examination. After that, I became terrified of gynecologists.”
She also revealed her tragic family history, saying, “My dad was addicted to gambling and was hardly ever home. My mom frequently abused me. When I checked my family register, I found out that he wasn’t my biological father. I still don’t know who my real father is. He’s probably one of my mom’s ex-boyfriends.”
Revealing her difficult family situation, Atisha continued, “As soon as I graduated from high school, I started working at a hotel because my mother forced me to.” She continued, “After about three months, my mom started giving me revealing clothes. When I came home from work, she would check my body. Eventually, I couldn’t stand it anymore and ran away.”
After running away, Atisha found out about her mother’s battle with cervical cancer. Recalling that time, she said, “I reluctantly went to visit her in the hospital at the request of my family. My mom looked different from before at the hospital. It was shocking.” She confessed, “My mom didn’t say anything to me and just cried. She has since passed away.”
Atisha continues to receive much love as she maintains regular communication through social media even after retiring as a cheerleader.
