Currently fulfilling his military service, BTS V has shared an unexpected update with fans during his leave.
On April 12, V shared a picture of his back on the fan communication platform Weverse. He captioned it as a “scar of honor.”
In the photo, V’s back showed a red wound, which caused fans to worry. Fans responded with comments such as “Get well soon,” “Don’t overdo it. We’re always cheering for you,” and “Be careful.”
V’s update generated a lot of buzz online, with fans expressing their enthusiasm, “Taehyung’s back is super broad.”
V set a pre-enlistment goal to bulk up and stay strong throughout his service. Last December, on Weverse, he shared his desire for improved stamina to handle multiple concerts without fatigue. He even aimed to reach a weight of 86kg (189.6 lbs) to achieve this goal.
In February, V shared on Weverse, “I’ll give you a mid-term report. I’ve reached 72.5kg (159.8 lbs).” He humorously added, “I’ll be back. Salute!” using a military expression, which made fans laugh.
Fans admire V’s dedication to his goals and send well wishes for his health. They encourage him to stay healthy, make good food choices, and thrive during his service.
Following in the footsteps of 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon and JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong, who earned the nickname “Captain Korea” for their impressive physiques during military service, fans are curious if V will achieve a similarly strong and healthy appearance. With his discharge date set for June 10, 2025, there’s much anticipation for V’s return.
