Translator Lee Yoon Jin, currently in a divorce lawsuit with actor Lee Beom Soo, has once again shared her emotional state.
On April 17, Lee Yoon Jin posted a lengthy message on social media, stating, “I had a 30-minute conversation with my father while waiting for the airport bus. At first, it was awkward, but when my father said at the end, ‘If a person who looks relaxed is using about 80% of their capacity, you have been living using 150%. Let go and take a break. It’s okay,’ I broke down in tears.”
She continued, “I opened the door to my parents’ house pretending to be cheerful, but honestly, I was self-conscious. How welcome could a daughter embroiled in a divorce lawsuit in her forties be? But I appreciated that my parents, caring for me since childhood, did not try to comfort me with trembling arms. I’m so grateful that I can’t express it in words.” She confessed her stable mental state due to her family’s consideration but also revealed, “I voluntarily reported a mock gun in my name that had threatened my children and me mentally and made us live in fear for the past few years while I was in Seoul for about 13 days.”
She added, “There’s a reporting period for illegal weapons in April. If you’re afraid because of illegal weapons at home or nearby, don’t hesitate to report it. It can be stressful, but I’ve chosen not to worry about minor things. South Korea is law-abiding, so I trust the legal system..”
She further stated, “If I have a request for the head of the household, I hope this will be an opportunity for him to take care of our son and experience the role of a parent by spending several months with him to see what he is learning and how he is growing. I hope he thinks about what kind of father he will be to our daughter. He should also contact me,” sending a strong message to Lee Beom Soo.
Lee Yoon Jin concluded her post by saying, “I thought everything would be stable when I turned forty, but this was unexpected and seems to have given me energy. I’ve hit rock bottom, let everything go, and my heart is at ease. Like my father’s comment, minus my tears, I will take it slow and walk one step at a time.”
Lee Beom Soo and Lee Yoon Jin were married in 2010 but separated after 14 years. They share a son and daughter. While Lee Yoon Jin posted a revealing account of her marriage and emotional state, Lee Beom Soo’s representatives responded: “There are many parts in the post by Lee Yoon Jin that are different from the truth, and we will respond sincerely in court.”
