G-Dragon is gearing up for a solo comeback with a new album later this year.
G-Dragon’s agency, Galaxy Corporation, confirmed on April 18 that the artist is planning a solo comeback later this year. However, a specific release date remains undecided.
Fueling speculation, News1 initially reported an August comeback for G-Dragon, complete with a new song release. This piqued fans’ interest even further, considering the artist’s (born August 18, 1988) well-known affinity for the number 8.
If G-Dragon makes a comeback this year, it will be his first solo album in seven years since his second mini-album, “Kwon Ji Yong,” was released in June 2017.
G-Dragon’s highly anticipated comeback, seven years in the making, has sparked a frenzy. Fans were initially primed for a 2023 release, but those plans shifted due to a drug scandal that emerged late last year.
G-Dragon vehemently denied allegations of drug use throughout the investigation, maintaining his innocence. He ultimately cleared his name after both a preliminary and a detailed national forensic test came back negative.
After being cleared, G-Dragon held a press conference with Galaxy Corporation to announce his future plans. He revealed the establishment of the Just Peace Foundation for drug eradication and excited fans by hinting at a comeback in 2024.
G-Dragon, who debuted as part of the group Big Bang in 2006, has many hit songs such as “Lies”, “Day by Day”, and “Bang Bang Bang”. He also demonstrated his exceptional capabilities as a solo artist with songs like “Heartbreaker”, “A Boy”, and “Crayon”.
