Actress Oh Yoon Ah has shared her secrets to maintaining her figure through Huh Young Man’s Korean Food Guide (Baek Ban Ki Haeng).
On April 21, Oh appeared as a guest on the TV Chosun show Huh Young Man’s Korean Food Guide, where she participated in a food tour of Gwangju.
Looking radiant in her 40s, Oh’s an inspiration for healthy aging.
When asked, “Were you born with that figure?” Oh responded, “No. There’s nothing you’re born with. Even if you are, you need to take care of it.”
She continued, “When I first debuted as a model, I was proud of my body. I thought my figure was great, but when I started acting, I felt fat. So, I fasted after 6 pm. Even if the shooting ended at dawn, I didn’t eat anything and jumped rope for two hours.”
She further surprised everyone by adding, “I’ve maintained the same weight since then. I’m 5ft 7in tall (170cm) and always try to stay under 114lbs (52kg).” Heo Young Man jokingly commented, “People who lose weight are all terrible,” eliciting laughter.
Meanwhile, Oh is a supermom raising a son on the autism spectrum alone. That day, Oh Yoon Ah said, “My son is 16 years old and still loves cartoons, especially old ones.”
Heo encouraged her by saying, “It must be hard to work and raise a child alone,” to which Oh responded, “I didn’t raise him alone. My mother helped me. While I was working, my mother taught my grandson to read and write. So, my son knows more than his friends,” expressing her gratitude towards her mother.
