Maintaining its strong momentum, Kung Fu Panda 4 continues to impress in its second week, drawing in over 1.24 million viewers. Jack Black, the voice of the beloved Po, took a moment to express his appreciation to his fans in Korea.
On April 22, Universal Pictures’ official channel uploaded a “Thank You Video for the Box Office Success from Korean Lover Jack Black.”
In the video, Jack Black warmly greeted his Korean fans by saying, “Hello, Korea,” and thanked them for helping Kung Fu Panda 4 surpass one million viewers. It’s the best opening of 2024 and the best opening for an animation since the pandemic. I’m really grateful,” he repeatedly said.
Black also shared, “I’m so happy to hear that many fans in Korea, my favorite country, have watched the movie. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, I hope you’ll go to the theater to watch it,” expressing his love for Korean fans once again by blowing a hand kiss. Black, a friendly Hollywood celebrity, has previously appeared on Korean variety shows like Infinite Challenge and The PSICK SHOW, showcasing his friendly, humorous charm.
Produced by DreamWorks, Kung Fu Panda 4 depicts Po’s new challenge of overcoming himself, the Dragon Warrior, to confront the villainous chameleon who can replicate the abilities of all kung fu masters. Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Awkwafina, and Viola Davis participated as voice actors.
Data from the Integrated Computer Network for Movie Ticket Admissions of the Korean Film Council showed “Kung Fu Panda” crossing the 1,248,312 mark in tickets on February 22.
